As Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, Mike Cromwell helps MDVIP deliver more value for doctors and patients. Mike leads efforts involving pricing, net member retention, practice management, standard operating procedures, virtual engagement, new product development, acquisitions, and more. 

“MDVIP has transformed the lives of thousands of patients, doctors, and families,” Mike says. “But our work is not done. We are continuing to transform MDVIP so we can make healthier lives happen for years to come.”

Prior to joining MDVIP in 2015, Mike spent time at Ascension Health Care Network, a hospital acquisition company, and Castlight Health, a digital health company. Mike started his career on Wall Street, spending five total combined years in investment banking (at Lehman Brothers and Barclays) and private equity (at Oak Hill Capital). From the beginning, his career has been solely focused on businesses and transactions in the healthcare industry.

Mike’s passion for healthcare came from his high school volunteer work with Alzheimer’s patients at a local senior living facility where he grew up in Maryland. There he saw many of the challenges that patients and healthcare professionals deal with daily, and it has inspired him ever since.

On the weekends you can usually catch Mike traveling, watching football (college and NFL), or running along Ft. Lauderdale beach. He is an avid supporter of Michigan sports and the Baltimore Ravens. A former collegiate a cappella singer, he has a special enthusiasm for the performing arts.

Mike received joint BA/BBA degrees in Latin and Finance from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School.
