As an individual with "white coat" syndrome, first of all, I am glad you are always fashionably dressed without a white coat, and second, thank you for being the kindest, most compassionate, easy to talk to, caring medical professional I have ever dealt with. No truer words have ever been spoken.
May 12, 2023, having had a stroke and taken up "temporary residency" in a bed at Northside Forsyth, you took time from your daily ventures to check on me, introduce yourself, and to make certain I was okay. And, I wasn't "officially" a patient of yours, yet! Fortunately, from other, I knew what a kind soul you were.
Fast forward to the next week, I became "official" and you help me tremendously by organizing my medications, making follow-up physician referrals, and getting me started with speech and physical therapies. By commanding these tasks for me, my care seemed effortless. Your kind words, pearls of wisdom as to why and why not, alleviated what could have been a very anxious process, especially for a patient with "white coat" syndrome.
And, just before the 4th of July, on a Saturday morning, in a time of minimal "crisis," you answered Hiluard's call. "Is she still with us?" was your reply. "Yes, but her blood pressure will not register, she is sweating and has blurred vision." "Get her drinking water and tell her not to take that drug any longer." Later, you called back to check on me, I'm certain to be assured that "I was still with us." Once again, another incredibly thoughtful, caring moment from you.
So, I hope you know that you do mean the world to me. I try to be a "low maintenance" patient but if the need arises, I know you will answer the call. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do for me and Hiluard too.
In closing, my favorite "advice" from you was.... "have a great time in Greece, enjoy your vacation, and just pull your suitcase with your left arm!" And, yes, I followed the doctor's orders.
