Dr. Blackmon had ordered lab tests. When he had the results one test was slightly high and, being the excellent physician he is, he ordered additional tests. Those tests showed abnormal results and he said to check with my oncologist. Several tests and a bone marrow later, I was diagnosed with a cancer that is incurable. Because of Dr. Blackmon not ignoring that slightly abnormal result, when I was diagnosed with the cancer it was advanced but thankfully (thank God) I had no other symptoms. I have had chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, more bone marrows and more chemotherapy. Obviously I don’t know what my future holds but I truly believe it is a better and hopefully longer future thanks to the wonderful, awesome care that Dr. Blackmon had for me. He cares about every aspect of his patients and I am beyond grateful and thankful for him and that he is my physician. He is a kind and caring man and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.
