As one of the few family medicine doctors in the greater Abilene area offering this personalized healthcare approach, I provide a level of care that can help you reach your health and wellness goals. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
My primary care practice is located in Abilene, Texas, and currently serves serving Abilene and the surrounding areas. I am affiliated with Abilene Regional Medical Center and Hendrick Medical Center.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Cooksey
Approximately three years ago on a Sunday I was helping my son work cows, of course I am climbing up and over the corral fences around the lot. Before we were finished I wasn't feeling good and came to the house to sit down and rest, I then got up and laid on the bed. He takes the time to hear and analyze my problems. Then he give me the options to fix the problems. He explains the options and gives details on a level I understand. We come to a solution together. It's team/family… See more

Dr Cooksey was my Dr in Big Spring many years ago. I was so distressed when he moved to Abilene, but finally found another Dr who was ok. Now that the interim Dr is retired, I had to find a new doc. I am retired now, so decided we could make the trip to Abilene whenever needed. Since seeing Dr Cooksey, I am doing so much better! He really listens, makes changes as needed, and takes great care… See more
Dr. Cooksey is a great doctor with a good heart. He is very attentive, and gets to know his patience well enough that he can tell if there is something they aren't telling him. i hope the time doesn't come that I will have to find a different doctor. Tiffany is great too. I love visiting with her.
Dr. Cooksey is more than my doctor. He is my friend. He listens well and helps guide me to my care plan. Even though we have moved 3 hours away, he and his nurse are available through voice messages, phone calls and the MDVIP message board.
i have the best Doctor on the planet ,,,,, i trust him with my Life
