What’s a sphenoid?

Because Dr. Franden actually knows me, she knows I don’t complain unless I’m truly in pain. I once went in and said that my head was splitting inside, it hurt so much. After ruling out some causes, she got me in for a CT scan the next day. It showed a sphenoid sinus infection, something almost impossible to diagnose without a scan. Without my relationship with Dr. Franden, who knows how long I would have suffered with a sinus infection that had severe head pain as its only symptom? It’s essential to have a doctor who knows what your “normal” looks like. Dr. Franden is that doctor for me.
