Twenty years ago, Tom and I cam to Vermont, a new section of the country - However we had lived in Connecticut several years before. I vacationed in Vermont and fell in love with this State and thought it would be a dream to retire here. I also thought it was impossible since we were being sent to Texas, Alabama and Louisiana. We had a short time to make our change as four days later Tom fell, breaking his hip. we were sent to Bennington hospital and after his dismissal, we were advised to see a doctor in Manchester and told that Dr. Keith Michl would be a good choice. As Dr. Michl greeted us, my first thought was, he's just a kid. since Tom was a negative thinker, I wondered if he would accept him. As years passed with Tom in a serious medical condition, it became obvious to us that this young Dr. had poise, compassion and was an accomplished young doctor. After several years, it became doubtful of a recovery, perhaps we should move closer to family, perhaps to assisted living. Tom said, I will not leave Vermont or Dr. Michl. He is the reason why, I will not leave!

Again, years have passed and soon I will be 89. My family calls me to move closer. There are three reasons why I cant leave but I have found a place which will take my dog, Benji and it has a garage for my loved VW convertible and I can continue my checkups with Dr. Michl.
