Time Makes a Difference

Dr. Gerald Watanabe allows me to explain my concerns, explore options, and seek referrals when we both agree they would be helpful. The result is more complete care and the ability to make sure my questions are answered. One of the reasons we signed up for MDVIP was lack of time and attention with our previous PCP. Office visits always seemed rushed and the doctor didn't encourage follow-up questions or more detailed conversations. I know that in the traditional insurance-based practices, patient count and quick turn arounds are prioritized over careful, thorough patient care - the old-fashioned kind, where doctors make the decisions, not the insurance company. I am much more satisfied with my overall care with Dr. Watanabe. Office visits are relaxed, there's time to discuss, ask questions, and get to know each other. I think these are very foundational aspects of good doctoring.
