In July 2022 I was diagnosed with Stenosis in the L4 and 5 region that caused extreme pain daily. While in WA at the time and I was only allowed to take a lesser pain killer known as Gabapentin then there was physical therapy.

The gabapentin was not that helpful with the pain but the physical therapy helped to reduce much of the pain making it bearable for me to tolerate.

However it required me to see the therapist quite frequently. Later in the year , I moved back Maui at the end of November 2022 and the pain came back with a vengeance.

Plan though good in some respects. To get into see a physician would take weeks and I couldn’t wait too long due to the excruciating pain that I suffered daily.

My husband being a caregiver full time had a patient who was a member of MDVIP and was happy with the program and his physician.

So my husband enrolled me in MDVIP where I I was able to get in the same week I joined and got the treatment I needed by seeing Dr. Samuel Johnsen.

Who in time was able to help relieve me of my daily pain level through seeing me and getting the proper meds and therapy I needed to include seeing specialist in this field. I’m so grateful to have joined MDVIP and having Dr. Johnsen as my attending physician.

I should mention that Dr Johnsen loss his entire office and equipment in the Lahaina fires but being the great physician he is.

He has been able to relocate his practice so he can continue to serve his patients in the town of Lahaina.
