Thank you for giving us the opportunity to tell you about our MDVIP Doctor - Dr. Steven Ross. We met Dr. Ross in 1988. We had just moved to Florence from Sumter, SC and I was having some pains around my heart. My husband, David, worked at Carolina Power & Light Company with Dr. Ross's father, Phil Ross. David called Phil and asked him if he thought his son would see me. Without hesitation, Dr. Ross called and met me at the hospital. This was the start of a long relationship.

Of course every year since, we have had our regular physicals and office visits with Dr. Ross. One year he told me I needed to have a colonoscopy because my father had died of colon cancer. I will always say that Dr. Ross saved my life. I went in the hospital for the colonoscopy - had multiple polys and had to have 18 inches of my colon removed. When Dr. Ross suggested that I have the colonoscopy, I had no symptoms at all. He used his medical experience to know it was time for me to be checked.

Our children also started seeing Dr. Ross when they were teenagers. Our son, who is an attorney in Charleston, stills says he wishes he had Dr. Ross as his primary physician. Dr. Ross has so many special qualities other than professional. You can not only tell him your physical feelings but also your innermost feelings. He makes you feel you're not silly or weird because you talk to him about these feelings. We not only have complete confidence in him as a physician, but as a friend he surpasses anyone's expectation. He's always been there when we've needed him. He always calls to check on us when there are problems we may be going through. Just to hear his voice makes our problems easier.

I could go on and on about how much he has done for us - illustration after illustration. We trust him as our MDVIP Doctor but we also love and respect him as our friend.
