Thank you Dr. Turner!
Several years ago Dr. Turner performed an annual physical for me. As part of that, he obtained the usual blood tests. The test results showed what would typically be considered an unremarkable level in my prostate-specific androgen (PSA) . However, Dr. Turner noticed the fact that the percentage of my increase over the prior year was significant, even though the level itself was not in the danger zone. Rather than ignoring it, or advising that it be monitored for another year, he advised that I get a biopsy to determine whether there was any evidence of prostate cancer. Although I was shocked to learn that I, in fact, did have cancer, and that the advised course of action was a prostatectomy, I was extremely grateful to Dr. Turner for his skill and dedication to his patients. When I hear of men dying from prostate cancer I think "that could have been me if not for Dr. Turner."
Thank you Dr. Turner!
