Strength Training at 87

Dr. Marina Manvelyan has always encouraged me to exercise. About a year ago I began strength training at Evergreen Physical Therapy in Pasadena, California. I had been lifting weights for about 10 months when I had my annual checkup with her. She was going through the results of some of the tests and stopped dead when she got to the change in muscle strength from the previous year. She stared at the numbers and said “Wow. Wow. I’ve never seen such a change in muscle weight (I think it was about 2 lbs.) in an 87-year-old woman before.” She and I were both thrilled. Since then I have gone on to lift my age.
