Sincere feeling that our doctor "had our back"
Dr. Coulombe has been our PC for many years. As he transitioned to MDVIP, we followed his lead. This decision has proved invaluable on several occasions.
This past August, my husband suffered a brain bleed due to a fall. He was hospitalized for nearly a week. Dr. Coulombe followed along, helping us navigate the medical terminology and events unfolding.
Unfortunately, about a week after my husband was released, he felt as if the bleed was reoccurring. This time we knew to transport him to the trauma center versus the closest hospital. We called Dr. Coulombe on his cell phone while we were en route. He reassured us he would call ahead to alert the trauma center. Shortly after, the situation changed. My husband was now experiencing chest pains. We called Dr. Coulombe again, and said plans had changed and that we were going to the nearest hospital. Once again, Dr. Coulombe reassured us that he would call that particular hospital and alert them. Once we pulled up to the emergency entrance, there was a wheelchair waiting our arrival. I gave the nurse in the reception our name. She told me to get my husband into the wheelchair, and he would be in room number "x" once I parked the car.
We can't thank Dr. Coulombe enough for the one-on-one care he gives his patients. We are so blessed to have him as our provider.
Unfortunately, many are being tempted to believe that a government controlled healthcare system is the "answer". Having lived under such a system for 5 years, my husband and I definitely know that is a total lie. We don't know the answer, but we do know that the medical profession needs more control over care versus accountants within insurance companies.
Thank you so much, Dr. Coulombe, for always being there when we need you. A shout out to his staff as well. It's so nice to be on a first name basis with an entire office!
