A Rock in the Storm of Life

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. George Schmitz since the first day he become associated with MDVIP. Unfortunately, she had already been diagnosed with RCC stage 4, a cancer that still has a survival rate of 5%. Under the care of Dr. Schmitz, she continued to live for over 20 years, 18 of which were fairly normal with respect to lifestyle. Of course there were many other specialists who had a role in her care, so many that on several occasions my wife and I were overwhelmed. Whenever that happened Dr. Schmitz, in addition to being our primary care physician, stepped in and kept things organized, interacted with other physicians, and to put it simply, kept us sane. In doing so, he became my wife's medical rock in a raging medical storm. His compassion, gentleness, attentiveness, and guidance was invaluable and will never be forgotten by me or my family.
