Reputation preceded him.
I “knew” Dr James Parsons through a very discerning friend whose praise of his care and attention was most sincere. A few years after her death I had occasion to become his patient and I mentioned to him that we had a common connection- his face lit up when he spoke of her and what a friend she had been to him. His reaction confirmed every anecdote and accolade I had heard over the years - here was a physician of deep personal connection to his patients’ well-being. I was completely sold. Over the years since that initial encounter he has seen me through some very dark times; always with a supportive and subtle attention to detail. His role as my PCP brings me great peace of mind, and that is a large part of what I think a physician should do. I do not look forward to his retirement.
