Real and Really Listens
I'm pretty new, still, to Dr. Patricia Roy, but in my limited dealings with her, I have found her to be one of the most down-to-earth doctors I've ever known.
When I sit with Dr. Roy, I don't feel like I'm being half listened to or rushed. When I ask questions, she gives thorough answers, and checks to make sure that I'm understanding. I had to call her, recently, at home, to receive immediate care. The poor girl had to call one pharmacy twice because they kept screwing up. Finally, I switched back to an old pharmacy, and she had to call yet this pharmacy. She listened closely to my needs; and not only that, she actually acted, specifically, on some of my feedback, because she trusted that I knew enough about myself- and my condition- to offer successful feedback. She helped me avoid the red tape, and I was able to address my pain, quickly. There's NOTHING better than a doctor who understands pain and has empathy for her patients. I know that not every situation can work out this way, and that not every patient fully understands her condition enough to provide detailed information to help in the decision-making process. But Dr. Roy could tell that I had a lot of knowledge about my condition, and she had no problem listening and acknowledging that.
On top of everything else, Dr. Roy has a killer sense of humor. I enjoy hearing her explanations because she is simultaneously knowledgeable and entertaining. I'm glad I found Dr. Roy.
