A Rare Find
When you have put your trust in the same physician for 22 years, you know they’re doing something right. If you are fortunate enough to find a doctor like Ed Giove, you do what I did - you stay with them. Over the years when Dr Giove joined a new practice, without hesitation, I also switched to the same practice. Now that he has established his own practice in Daniel Island, considering the level of care I receive from him, it is well worth the 40 minute drive from my home to his office.
Dr G has guided me through everything from simple procedures to major surgeries. Last year being my most recent as well as my most memorable. I received a diagnoses of metastatic papillary carcinoma and underwent a total thyroidectomy with a modified radical neck dissection. If it weren’t for his persistence, and questioning of the initial findings from an ultrasound and a biopsy, I may not have had the same outcome. For that, I am forever grateful. Not only did Dr G go above and beyond to ensure I had a proper diagnoses, he made certain I had the best surgeon for my procedure. I was later told during a follow up appointment with my surgeon, he was in constant contact with her during and after my surgery.
Apart from being an excellent physician, Ed is a good human who truly cares about his patients. It is clearly reflected in the way he communicates with you, he does not view you as just a chart. He connects with you as a person and makes you feel as if you matter, as well as what you have to say regarding your own health matters.
That being said, let’s not forget about his sense of humor! Even on your worst day, you can count on at least one good laugh before you leave his office.
I am thankful to have had and continue to have the quality of care I receive from Dr Giove and his staff.
