A physician who Cares and Responds

When my wife had a coronary, our physician came to the hospital off-hours and supervised her care in the ER. An interventional cardiologist was selected and called in to exercise the application of stents. Saved her life very likely. Dr. Gelvin continued to see her in the hospital on rounds. This was very special to us and showed how much he cares for his patients to get involved and stay involved. This is very unique in today's medical environment wherein most patients are exclusively treated by "hospitalists" which I feel is a step down in patient care. Dr. Gelvin is there when you need him. A very special relationship I feel.
