Partnership

My doctor, Frank Landry, treats me like a partner in my own health care, treated me as a partner in my husband's health care as well during the years my husband was declining and then dying. He does not talk down to me, far from it, We have mutual respect, and affection as well. He pays attention to me, and I pay attention to him. We trust one another.

When my husband was ill, if I heard of a different treatment, or a different drug, I would ask Frank about it. He knew far more than I, we would talk about it, his mind was never closed. If there were reasons not to try it, we agreed not to. If it was worth a try, we tried it. He was never defensive and never lazy. I am very lucky to have him.
