Parking Lot Exam

I love my doctor! Years ago following a friendly racquetball game with my doctor and others at 5:30 am, my doctor and I were leaving the health club when I mentioned to him that felt a mass around my navel. Rather than just telling me to schedule an appointment with his office, he said “lift your shirt,” and he did a quick check of my stomach / navel area while we were in the parking lot and indicated that it felt like a hernia. I followed up with an actual office visit later where he did a more thorough exam and confirmed his original parking lot diagnosis.
