One of John's Last Days

My husband was very ill and dying of cancer. One Saturday morning the doorbell rang and it was Doctor Stanislav dressed in shorts and a tee shirt. He wanted to know if he could visit with John. While I sat in another room, Dr. Charlie visited with John. They ate ice cream and talked and talked about various topics as old friends sometimes do. I often heard laughter which really warmed my heart. The visit was relaxed and unhurried and meant the world to John. That was John's last good day and he died several days later. I will never forget that visit, and Dr, Charlie will always be my physician.
