Old School
Dr. Billet reminds me of the times I would go to the doctor as a kid. The doctor knew me, knew my family, knew the past issues, and didn't have the distractions of trying to get information in less than 10 minutes before moving on to the next patient. Dr. Billet is the same as my doctor. I enjoy the personal time and the discussions about my health and the research he has read since my last visit. I enjoy the the manor by which he speaks to me, as an adult. He doesn't talk to me as an uneducated peon. So many doctors these days think of themselves as 'gods' and they have the final word on everything. This is NOT the case with Dr. Billet. He takes the time to explain the options and allows me to make the decision that makes sense for my situation. Don't get me wrong, I have immense respect for Dr. Billet's knowledge and abilities, but he doesn't treat me as if I am incapable of making an informed decision on my own. After making a decision, he sends me to people he personally respects in the field that is necessary for any specializations, instead of handing me a list and telling me to pick without any guidance. This is what I remember from my childhood and I am glad he has been my doctor the past few years. I am blessed to have him as my doctor
