My husband has been a patient of Dr. Ramaswamy since she joined the Fairfax practice. His prior MDVIP physician had recently retired and her replacement left the practice within a few months of joining it. Thus, many changes. My husband and I accompany each other to medical appointments, so I have personally witnessed how Dr. Ramasawamy relates to her patients. First, she listens attentively. One might assume this this is pretty basic, but it's amazing how many physicians simply do not listen. Second, she asks follow-up questions to gather additional information. Then she provides her assessment and recommendations, always taking into account her patient's needs and preferences. I observed this process over perhaps a dozen appointments that dealt with serious chronic medical conditions; I was impressed. Then I witnessed how responsive (and available) Dr. Ramaswamy and her staff were when contacted outside regular office hours. Requests are processed promptly. So what did I then do? Yes, I signed up to be her patient too. And I'm is really terrific hands!
