My story
My story began in that office during the 1970’s. I was working a factory job. I had an episode with my thyroid, I experienced a thyroid storm. When I entered this practice it was, Hench, Perrine and Fulmer Internal Medicine. When Dr. Hench retired the Borders Twins joined the practice. Dr. James was my Doctor. Great relationship with him and the staff. Dr. James left for a position with Baptist Health. I have been with Dr. Hood since then. I joined MDVIP due to the fact that I had been with this office for so long. They knew all about me which if I left I would be starting over with a Doctor that I was not familiar with nor would he be familiar with me. It was a costly decision for me but one that I felt was in my best interest. My first physical and pre-wellness exam was more than I had ever before received. They did extensive test not usually done on prior wellness or physical exams. I was much impressed. Dr. Hood has been someone that I have been happy to have as my Doctor. He has made a point to tell me to PLEASE feel free to call him on his private number if I have any issues that I need to address with him. I am not used to calling a Doctor every time I have a little ache or pain. When you grow up with a large family you don’t run to the Doctor or the ER every time something comes up. I appreciate the care I get from him and the staff. I love that I can get on the MDVIP chart with messages to him and the responses is remarkable. They call back as well as send the message to my chart. As a note: I have been in this office longer than anyone else in the office other than one staff lady that is assigned to Dr. John Borders.
