My Physician, My Friend
My moments have been an experience of decades with Anne Alexander M. D. from her early days of practice. I'm soon to be 87 and am one of her longest term patients. Through the years, she has helped me implement a lifestyle that has resulted in a happy, resourceful, vigorous and healthy life. She has always looked for ways to help me improve deficiencies in test results with recommendations for meds, supplements or diet and exercise that have led to subsequently positive results. I have witnessed how her children have grown up and developed into productive adults. In turn, I have shared my family experiences including the recent birth of my first great grandchild. Our discussions at my annual wellness review, usually with my daughter present, always take at least an hour of examination and discussion of my health and then the inevitable sharing of what's going on with her daughters and family and what's going on in my life and family. Years ago, she remarked that I got "two for one" because her husband, an electrophysiologist, who she referred to as an "electrician", would examine, at her behest, some of my wife's test results and give her an opinion. Ultimately, her husband, David Kessler M. D., became both of our cardiologist. My physician not only has managed my health and well-being for years but is, as well, a long-time wonderful friend.
