My doctor was there when I needed him

A few years ago, my son and I planned a trip to New York City. It was on Sunday morning when I woke up and sensed that something was wrong.
The night before when I got in bed, my lips felt sore and chapped, and were tingling. When I woke up, I had severe pain and itching on my hands. I wanted to go see Dr. Phillips in his office but I knew being that it was Sunday, he would be in church; so I called his cell and left him a message.
Not five minutes went by and he returned my call; we did Facetime and I proceeded to describe the symptoms that I was having. He told me that this seemed like an allergic reaction. He asked me if I had Benadryl in the house and advised me to take two capsules and call him after 30 minutes. I called Dr. Phillips back and told him I felt 100% better. He advised me to keep Benadryl on hand in case I needed a second dose and to call him back if I had anymore symptoms. My son and I did not have to cancel our planned trip to NYC and I was very happy for that; of course, I let my son do all the driving because the Benadryl made me a little drowsy.
