My Doctor saved my life
I was 70 in good health and have a healthy weight for my small frame. I go to the gym 4-5 days per week. My previous doctor informed me that I was in good health even though he heard a little something when he listened to my chest but it wasn't enough for extra tests yet(EKG). My ankles were not swollen so that meant I had good circulation from my heart to my legs.
Meanwhile, I have been checking with Dr. Andrea Weed's office for about two years, but she was not taking on any new patients. Finally in November I was informed she could take me as a patient.
My first visit she was thorough which included taking a long time listening to my chest and back and informed me that she would like to do an EKG, which did indicate a problem. She also ordered extra tests which included an ultrasound on the arteries in my neck. It was found that both my Carotid arteries were clogged and I had only a "string" amount of space for my blood to move. Everyone was surprised that I had not yet had a stroke (Immediate surgery was recommended).
Dr. Weed was like a detective pursuing every avenue even though I presented a good picture of health. If I had not been able to transfer to Dr. Weed I would have had a stroke and possibly died.
Thank you Dr. Weed for being thorough in my care. I now will be able to enjoy my grandkids and family longer, and that is priceless.
