Listening

When my doctor of 25 or so years retired, I was not looking forward to starting over with someone else. I tried one new doctor and was disappointed in the factory-like approach of her practice. Then a friend of mine recommended Dr. Gearhart. What a contrast. She brings humor, kindness, great listening skills, and a calm grace to her practice. I am grateful for her dedication to preventive health, and I also appreciate her directness in discussing health issues. I am not fond of taking medicine if I can avoid it. Recently, I appreciated her letting me try to resolve an issue through diet change before resorting to medicine. When that worked, she was so positive about it, I told her it's like having a doctor and a cheer leader in one!
