Listening

There is nothing hugely complicated about what Dr. Martin does. He listens. When he asks questions, he looks at me and he listens and he writes down whatever might be important. The next time I come for anything, he asks me questions about what we discussed the last time I was here, and he listens to what I say. In a world where it is increasingly common to not feel heard (both because of the way things are now and because we are getting older) Dr. Martin's listening is important and reassuring to me.
