A Life Saved
Although I have been seeing Dr. Barnes for many years, I haven't had a lot of problems. I do a physical once a year and see him 6 months later so he can prescribe medications as needed. I suffered with frequent migraine headaches most of my life till they stopped in my mid 60's. In my early 70's I started to be short of breath for just a few seconds while cutting the grass and then I would be back to normal. This was in the fall. He sent me to get the stress test and cardiograms. All came back looking good. During my physical he thought it would be a good idea to get a calcium scan. Once he saw the results, which were extremely high, I was seeing a cardiologist just 2 days later. We both knew there was a blockage somewhere. The cardiologist had to do the tests again which were passed without issue again. New rules from the insurance company forced us to try a medication that was useless unless there was just a minor blockage. In 7 weeks, I was in the hospital so they could perform a catheterization. They found that my main artery had 90% blockage in 2 places. 2 stents later I'm as good as new so to speak. A heart attack avoided because Dr. Barnes convinced me to take a test that insurance won't pay for.
