Knowing I’m not alone and someone has my back.
I fell off my horse two years ago, I was 75, just when I was changing mdvip doctors. I had not yet had my first visits with Dr Amy freedman. I was hospitalized and in three days sent to a rehab for a month. I had fractured my acetabulum. I didn’t feel good about the rehab doctor and the pt I was having so I contacted my new Mdvip doctor who responded right away, She was able to see my x rays from the hospital and read their notes. She helped me advocate for what I needed and I felt safer knowing someone had my back. The rehab doctor said I was not to have an x ray and ortho consult for six weeks and I had thought and Dr Freedman saw the hospital notes said it was to be sooner. So the rehab place did arrange to send me for that. Also the pt folks were having me move in ways that hurt. The mdvip doctor helped me have a telephone consult with a physiatrist who agreed I should avoid one of the things the rehab was wanting me to do. I clearly appreciate my mdvip doctor and all she is doing to encourage me to live my life healthily and to the fullest. I’m back on a horse for short easier activities though not very often. I am working with my doctor on loosing weight and eating a better diet. I do a lot of pt and exercise classes at the pt place and my doctor feels I’m doing pretty good.
