Kind,Gentle, Dedicated and Caring

I have been with Dr. Leichtling for over 20 years. He has always been very kind, caring and thorough. In May, 2018, I came into his office as an emergency visit because I had an open wound on my abdomen. He immediately sent me to HCGH ER. When I arrived the ER nurse stated that I would be her only patient because I was very sick. Well, during the next 8 months, in and out of the hospital with three open fistulas and levels off the charts, Dr. Leichtling along with what now became my surgical team (along with a host of other specialist) monitored me and tracked me condition almost daily until I was healthy enough to have surgery to repair my conditions and start my healing. To this day, I am ever so thankful that he took me as an emergency appt that day and was available day and night for questions, guidance, consults with the teams and mere support for my tears during those 8 months. He is still to this day, monitoring and managing me to ensure that i am staying as healthy as possible and providing the support that a Great doctor does. He always enters the exam room with a warm smile, a respectful greeting and handshake and takes the time to listen. I feel privileged to have had him for the duration of time and now that he is part of the MDVIP program, he has more time to attend to his patients. I hear other family members complain about their doctors not getting back to them and I have always been able to hold my head high and say “not my doctor. If I put a message in the portal, no matter what time of day or night, he always gets back to me in a timely manner - even on the weekends, with answers to my questions, refill information or just guidance to move forward. Dr. Leichtling is one in a million and as long as I can afford the MDVIP program, I will stay with him until he is no longer providing care. Thank you for the opportunity to provide this feedback.
