On July 26, 2013 I suffered a massive stroke while on Lake Marion in Manning, S.C. 65 miles from my home in Florence, S.C. Dr. Ross was notified immediately and made arrangements for me to be transported to McLeod Regional Medical Center Stroke Unit by helicopter as time was critical. Dr. Ross was waiting for me on arrival at the hospital. I then suffered several mini strokes, had a 5 minute seizure, a small heart attack and died 30-60 seconds. Per my wife Dr. Ross never left my side during this time and had to make last minute life threatening decisions regarding my illness. I had missed the 30 minute time limit for the TPA therefore my wife ask Dr. Ross to do whatever he felt necessary in my best interest. It was a touch and go situation and Dr. Ross prepared my wife and children for what may happen including death and/or surviving not knowing anything and paralysis. He was a great comforter to my wife and children. I was in the hospital a total of 5 days after all I had gone through and I give all the credit to God and Dr. Ross. I do not think I would be here today if it were not for Dr. Ross prompt actions and his doctoring me back to health and of course the excellent aftercare I have received from him and his staff. I am now living a normal healthy life!
