It has been our pleasure and good fortune to have Dr. Hochwalt as our Primary Care Doctor for almost 8 years. During that period, we have always found him to be caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and available. One incident comes to mind that shows the support we have received from Dr. Hochwalt. A little over 5 years ago, Dave went to see Dr. Hochwalt about a growth he had discovered in his chest. Dr. Hochwalt immediately said it had to come out, and sent Dave to a surgeon that specialized in this procedure. The day after the procedure, the surgeon called to tell us that cancer cells had been found in the growth. Needless to say, we were shocked and didn't know where to turn. Thirty minutes later, Dr. Hochwalt, while on vacation, called to tell us that he had made appointments for the additional testing required and had arranged for Dave to see an oncologist that he believed would be the best fit for Dave. This phone call from Dr. Hochwalt made all the difference in the world to us. All of a sudden there was a plan, a path to move forward to recovery, and we knew we were not alone. There was somebody on our side that took charge and knew exactly what needed to be done. As it turned out, Dave had Stage 2 Breast Cancer, but now, as a result of the surgery and chemotherapy treatments, we are happy to report that he has been cancer-free for over 5 years. Dr. Hochwalt has always been there for us whenever we had a question or concern. In this case, he gave us confidence that Dave was going to be just fine, and we believe this confidence was important to Dave's recovery. To our way of thinking, we could not have a better primary care doctor. Thank you Dr. Hochwalt!
