Immediate Recognition Of Medical Emergency
On February 11, 2021, I suffered a fall on ice onto my back and hitting the back of my head. I was dazed for a couple of minutes but seemed ok. In late March 20,21 I started noticing a progressive general weakness to the point I didn’t feel capable of driving. I called Dr. Robert Coye’s office and got an immediate appointment. My son drove me to the appointment. Within 10 minutes in the exam room Dr. Coye observed an involuntary upward movement of my left arm. Dr. Coye sent orders for a CT Scan STAT of my brain at an emergency clinic near my home. After the scan, the ER doctor ordered me transmitted in an emergency ambulance to a local hospital. Subsequently, I underwent an emergency craniotomy to relieve a brain bleed that was pushing the my brain off centerline approximately ½ inch. Dr. Coye’s quick action likely saved me from a major stroke or perhaps even death. Dr. Coye is a professional, highly skilled, caring, class act.
