I have been a patient of Dr. Beth Hanlon for close to 15 years and have always felt very comfortable with her and her bedside manor. When she became an MDVIP doctor she has been able to spend more time going over all my health issues and questions. I feel fortunate to have her as a doctor and having the time for more indepth conversations about my health if needed and the ease of getting into see her so quickly. I think my health is fairly good at this point, however I am sure I have been a trying patient for Dr. Hanlon over the last six years as I have been a 24/7 caregiver to my husband who has Lewy Body Dementia. I am highly emotional and I usually end up telling her of my frustrations, my feelings of hopelessness, stress, etc., often accompanied by many tears. Dr. Hanlon is always warm, patient, attentive and consoling as she listens to me, she is always positive and has given me much feedback on different things I can do to alleviate the stress that current circumstances are causing me. My last visit she told me that she thought I needed to see a therapist to work through some of the mental issues I've been experiencing as a result of being a caregiver with no family support and no outside support. She recommended a therapist who she thought might be able to assist me because of same religious background, and her previous experience in a hospice setting. The therapist has been a Godsend and I feel that this experience has opened my eyes about a lot of reasons why I am the way I am and she has taught me new ways of addressing stress and feelings that I had not previously tried. I look forward to having Dr. Hanlon as my doctor for many years...and hope she will be pleased with the progress I have made with my mental health.
