I greatly appreciate Dr.Biasotto's emphasis on preventive care, addressing overall health and well-being as opposed to addressing individual symptoms. His gift--one of his many--is that he addresses these health concerns without ever condescending to his patients.
In my particular experience, I recognize that he has slowly pulled me out of focusing entirely on another's health--that of my late husband's--to focusing upon my own health. This was no easy task, since I really had no idea how to even begin redirecting my attention to bettering my own health. In the past year, my health assessments have moved from diabetic to pre-diabetic categorically. Although I've experienced some retrenchments, I know that Dr. Biasotto will continue to remind me that I am in control over my own health--and I need that reminder.
These reminders are down-to-earth, and they emerge out of a genuine concern for his individual patients. I will always be indebted to Dr. Biasotto for his treatment of my late husband--only he could have talked to my husband so directly--amusing him where others would have offended him, but I continue to be grateful for him in his treatment of me. He has helped me move from being a caregiver for my late husband to being a caregiver for me. I believe I would still be floundering without his help.
I must add that coming to his office for an appointment is never a chore--his staff is always both kind and efficient--a rare combination. I talk to Sara as though I were talking to a friend, and I believe I am.
In short, I am indebted to Dr. Biasotto for the history of his service to both my late husband and me, and I am grateful for his continued care for me. I am fortunate to have him as my doctor.
