Hospital Encounter and Blood Pressure Discussion

In January 2011, I ran into Dr. Hubner in St. John's hospital. He recognized me and asked what I was doing there. I told him that my youngest daughter, Julie, was there delivering her first born son, Knox, and I was there to see them. He congratulated me and told me that hospitals have a happy side, the maternity section and the other side where people were ill trying to get well and some trying to avoid dying. He said that hospitals are not healthy places and stay out of them unless visiting the happy side.

Also years ago, we were discussing my blood pressure and he asked me if I knew of anything that caused my blood pressure to elevate. I answered by alluding to the portrait of his lovely wife and 2 daughters on the wall behind him and asked him if being in the minority @ home like myself ever caused his blood pressure to rise. He chuckled and responded by saying that he knew exactly what I was referencing.

I have had Dr. Hubner as my physician since before he joined MDVIP. He is a fine man and a better physician!
