Hope and Health

I have a series of acute and chronic conditions made worse by a rare genetic condition that has weakened all of my connective tissue. I live on a beautiful island that has a serious shortage of physicians and even fewer knowledgeable about my genetic condition. Perfect storm. When I heard about MDVIP, I was cautiously optimistic that I might be able to have a doctor who could quarterback my healthcare. Dr Okimura has been a true blessing. She takes the time to listen to me, to seek out additional knowledge about complications that come up frequently, to explore options available to me and never makes me feel like a burden when I call and email her often. I suffer from depression in part due to my health issues and she is one of the few doctors that gives me hope. There are often no fixes or partial fixes for me, but Dr Okimura instills hope in me that we will keep working together to make things better. It is really rare to find a doctor that provides hope as well as healthcare. Hope is priceless and so is Dr Okimura!
