He Saved My Life

Doctor Borders was always telling me I needed a colonoscopy. This one day I went to him and he said to me it is my medical duty to tell you there’s nothing like stomach or colon cancer and if you can prevent those cancers with just one night of prep, I would suggest you do it. I just said to him if you don’t make that appointment before I leave your office today, I probably will not call you back. He followed up with making my appointment with a colorectal surgeon, and in November 2004 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I had surgery. The cancer had gone through the colon wall. When my oncologist came in the day after surgery, he replied, you are one of the luckiest people I know because you do not have to have any radiation or chemotherapy because it has not attached itself to any other organs. As of November 2024, I will have been cancer free for 20 years. Praise the Lord! I feel because of Dr. Borders, I am able to write this story today.
