When experiencing light headedness for more than a day and I was in the car, I called to ask what's up. The message came back that I should either go directly to the emergency room (a disturbing thought) or come into the office at 4:00. Thinking about it I realized that I was functioning fine and decided to wait until 4. When I got there the doctor was laughing and saying "he knew" that I would choose him over the emergency room! He also knows that I will not take medication unless absolutely necessary and that extends to something as simple as aspirin or Tylenol. He took some built up wax out of my ear and said to see an ENT for further review. It worked. And he respects my viewpoint all the time!
