Guardian in a White Coat: Dr. Bottenberg

A few weeks ago I tested positive for Covid and having a relatively healthy (knock on wood) year I was obviously concerned about what to do. Having been with Dr.Bottenberg just a little over a year, I have been fortunate enough not to have needed to see him other than for my annual physical. And as an aside, he was wonderful in terms of the time he spent with me explaining everything about the results of the annual exam, and answering all my questions. Okay, back to Covid. It was a Sunday when I discovered my positive test results for Covid. I called the number I had been given to reach Dr. Bottenberg after hours. I figured because it was a Sunday I would probably have to leave a message and he would get back to me. Boy was I wrong! He answered on the first ring and seeing who the call was from he called me by name and asked me what was wrong. I immediately felt my anxiety level go down and that everything would be okay. It was such a good feeling because of all the bad experiences I have had with other doctors before joining MDVIP and Dr. Bottenberg. At any rate, he suggested I take the Paxlovid and called in a prescription while I was talking to him on the phone. He also explained some of the side effects I might experience from the Paxlovid and outlined the procedure I should follow after the 5 days of taking the drug. He answered all my questions, too, I felt "taken care" and "listened to;" that's why I call him "My Guardian in a White Coat." Thank you Dr. Bottenberg for "being there!".
