A GREAT DOCTOR
My wife and I have been attended to by Dr. Edward Laub for several years via the MDVIP program. In early 2017, while speaking with Dr. Laub regarding my recently completed general physical exam, I mentioned my occasional GERD issues and the coughing up of phlegm. He immediately had me cough up some phlegm and because of its unusual color, scheduled me for an endoscopy with Dr. Armen Simonian, a gastroenterologist. That exam generated a second, more detailed examination which confirmed cancer in the lower part of my esophagus. After undergoing radiation and Chemotherapy, I underwent an operation in December 2017 involving the removal of my esophagus (the cancer was found to have been detected at an early stage). In the past six years, as a follow-up, I've had numerous cat scans and pet scan, all of which have indicated that the cancer has not returned. Had it not been for Dr. Laub's close attention to my initial comment, the early-stage cancer would likely have spread and may not have been detected until it was too late for successful treatment. Obviously, Dr. Laub has earned my highest regard and I thank him for that often.
