Good health is the basis for a happy and fulfilling life; Dr Sattin persues our very best health.
I've been a patient of Dr. Sandra Sattin's medical practice for many years. I didn't fully understand what that meant to me until I found myself in the hospital emergency room bleeding from an unknown cause. I was terrified...the big C kept crossing my mind!
I had called Dr Sattin to tell her what was going on. She told me to call 911 and get an ambulance to take me the hospital. No driving myself. No friend or family member. The fastest way to answer any questions about my condition was to allow an ambulance to get me there...now. I'd never been in an ambulance before, but I knew when Sandy Sattin said do it now, it was not just a suggestion.
The last time I had been in a hospital was 42 years earlier when I had had a hysterectomy. Other than that, I was only there for the births of my children, and never in an emergency room. The hustle and bustle of numerous nurses in and out; doctors poking their heads in...and quickly out. I still didn't know anything about my condition. It seemed the nurses had a clue they weren't sharing. That was the doctor's job and they didn't stick around long enough to do any sharing. I knew they were all trying to help me.
I was in the hospital for 5 days of endless needle sticks and pints of blood. It was finally decided, after many scans, I had a complication from an existing condition, of which I had been aware. I couldn't understand why the specialists had never discussed possible complications with me.
Dr Sattin did visit me in the hospital, and having her there was an immediate relief. She took all dire concerns off my mind. We discussed what I could do to make sure this complication did not happen again, and what to do if it did. She was my partner in solving the problem and restoring my health.
Dr. Sattin informs me of my health issues and what I need to do to improve. Her caring and concern are obvious. I know she wants to make a positive difference in my good health, and that of all her patients. And without question, she does.
