The Good Doctors
In 2015, we lost our son Marcos Machado Borges III to an immune system disease while we were on vacation in Brazil. Following this tragedy, we were determined to find the best doctor we could afford to take care of our family.
We researched extensively and consulted with numerous friends before choosing Dr. Pimentel, particularly for his humane and friendly approach to his profession. Becoming one of Dr. Pimentel’s VIP patients has been one of the best decisions we've made for our family's health. I feel secure knowing that we have one of the best doctors in Texas who truly cares about me and my family. He even knows my family's health history better than I do myself. When I contracted COVID-19 in 2020, he treated me and would call us twice a day to check on my condition. On a Sunday before Christmas, my oxygen levels dropped, and he instructed me to go to Methodist Hospital immediately, assuring me that he had arranged a place for me. It was challenging because my wife had to drop me off and couldn't stay with me. Remember, this was a time when hospitals were so overwhelmed they were storing cadavers in cooler trucks.
Upon arrival at the hospital, we were initially told there was no availability. However, once I mentioned that Dr. Pimentel had confirmed our appointment, everything changed. We were given an emergency room immediately and later transferred to a room. Dr. Pimentel visited me every day, sometimes twice, ensuring that I received proper treatment and did not succumb to the illness, as many did before the availability of vaccines.
With Dr. Pimentel, we don't feel like just a number. I've also never encountered a doctor who invests more time in testing and following up with patients, guiding us through each step of the examinations. He patiently explains our current status and details why there has been an improvement. Sometimes, he is quite strict if you don’t follow his recommendations exactly. His appointments can last over two hours. I’ve tried to respond quickly to move things along, but he insists on doing his job thoroughly, adhering to his protocols and procedures.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Pimentel, his wife Robin, and their professional staff. You rock... Thank you very much for being a part of our family.
