Going the Extra Mile~~~literally

Dr. Stephen M. Minton was my doctor long before he joined MDVIP. He continues to be my doctor and I am so glad that I opted to continue with him when he joined MDVIP.

To set the stage, I live within a short walking distance from Dr. Minton’s office. Near his office and my home is a CVS pharmacy. On December 26, 2023 feeling run down, feverish, and having experienced intense coughing for a few days, I called Dr. Minton’s office and was able to see him toward the end of the day. I am generally in good health, live alone, have all my vaccines, and am firmly in the AARP age-appropriate community. I must have looked and sounded forlorn, pitiful, and super sick. (Not Covid, nor flu)

He called in meds and then did the most incredible and unexpected thing~~~he announced that it was getting dark and he did not want me out and about so he insisted on going to CVS and not only picking up my meds but delivering them to my home!

Today “house calls” are a thing of novels. Dr. Minton’s gracious and generous offer will forever stay with me as a supreme act of kindness. I am so grateful that he took the time and that he cared about my safety and well-being to go the extra mile.
