The Gift of Song

Many years ago when my dear Mother was starting to fail, there were many stays in our local hospital. I would sit with her and keep her company while she patiently waited for Dr. Green to come in to see her. When he entered, I would watch my Mom’s eyes light up. He would ask me to wait outside, close the door to my Mom’s room, and proceed to sing to her… Yes, Dr. Green sang to my Mom! He treated her with medicines and stretched out her life for us, but to this day, I believe he comforted my Mom and made her feel joy with his gift of song. I am forever grateful.
