Extra Attention

Last summer I was hospitalized for heart rhythm problems. Soon after I entered the hospital, my condition took a turn for the worse. Both my heart and lungs began to fill with fluid. When my daughter arrived from Washington, DC, she called and began communication with Dr. Whitmer until after I got home and began recovering.

During my hospitalization Dr. Whitmer came to visit me 3 times. He tracked my treatment on the Kettering portal and shared good observations with my daughter.

When I left the hospital, without knowing the full implications of my condition, Dr. Whitmer consulted with my cardiologist and arranged for further testing the week after I got home. The additional testing ruled out further concern about the fluids that built up in my lungs and heart. I was able to take a deep breath (literally), heave a sigh of relief and focus on therapy to get well.

I really appreciated the extra help and attention he gave out family. I am sure it hastened my recovery
