Dr. Theodore Li: A Doctor Whose Brillance and Manner Continues to Shine

Dr. Li has been my physician for at least thirty-six years. A friend who was Dr. Li's colleague at Georgetown University hospitals recommended him. We were impressed with the thoroughness of Dr. Li's examinations, but even more by his ability to explain to us the significance of what he found and his guidance for good health. Dr. Li never hesitated to send us to specialists, and often made the appointments himself to ensure that we would be seen. In late November of 2023, Dr. Li was troubled by the elevation of a liver enzyme revealed in my blood test and the image of my liver on his handheld scanner. Minutes after telling me of his concern that I had liver cancer, he ordered a CT Scan, suggested a biopsy, and made an appointment with an oncologist at Georgetown University for me.

His explanation of the diagnosis and the importance of immediate treatment was clear and compassionate. Because of Dr. Li, I am currently in treatment at Georgetown University's Cancer Center with possible surgery dependent on the success of a forthcoming necessary procedure. Dr. Li continues to receive results of my CT Scans and other tests and continues to provide clear explanations and encouragement. He has made clear that cancer is a difficult disease to combat, but he has not failed provide encouragement to do so. I am unsure of the final result of my treatment. I do know that my chances for survival do exist because of Dr. Li's medical brilliance and guidance.
