Before Dr. Stapleton became a part of the MDVIP program, she was my primary care physician based on a referral from my rheumatologist. Although I was fairly young (in my 40's), I saw a rheumatologist because I had been diagnosed with lupus. When Dr. Stapleton was changing to MDVIP, I declined her services only because I didn't think I should participate when there were so many without basic medical sevices.

In May, 2010, I became ill. Although I am still without a specific diagnosis, I appear to have MS-like symptoms and I tell folks I have neurological demylenating disease (I do have damage to my spinal cord).

I decided in late 2013 that my medical situation was fairly complex and that I could definitely benefit from a partner. And who better than Dr.Stapleton?! In a society where so many of us remain a claim number or a diagnosis, I knew I could benefit from some individual attention. I assumed Dr. Stapleton's participation in MDVIP would allow her the necessary time to pay attention to my situation, absorb the input from many different specialists, interpret findings for me, and guide me to appropriate care. I currently see an internist, rheumatologist, physical therapist, neurologist, neurology dietician, and retina specialist, to name a few! And under her guidance and referral, I will be seen by the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville in May.

I have trememdous respect for Dr. Stapleton, her knowlege, and her very caring manner. She has provided me the guidance I sought and I feel fortunate to be considered one of her patients.
