Dr. Randal P. Riesett ROCKS! - thumbs up to the entire practice
Plain and simple.. I was obese. 5’8” tall and weighing in at ( literally) 199 pounds at my office visit last autumn. Yikes! The extra weight was causing me to feel sluggish. My joints ached. My knees, feet, and back hurt.
Dr. Riesett suggested I try intermittent fasting to safely and slowly take off the excesss weight. Since I came in the office for fasting bloodwork and it was 2 pm already… I decided to start the IF program THAT very day ( October 30, 2023.) with a 3-8 pm eating window. What an effective prompt!
Fast forward to February 12, 2024 and I am pleased to report my weight is 168 ( down 32 pounds!). On advice from Dr.R- I’m eating non- processed foods, loads of veggies, some fruit, lean protein- give or take ~1,600 calories daily. I feel great!
With Dr. Riesett’s caring support- I aim to reach my goal weight of 150 by late- summer. Even at my current weight? My joints and muscle are no longer painful. And I feel much more energetic than at nearly 200 pounds.
At my Part 2 physical Dr. R asked me a question no other doc has ever asked.. he wanted to know how I planned to keep the weight off.
We brainstormed a bit ( add light strength building, add a bit of cardio) and I now have a plan.
I also learned the results of my testing from my annual physical…. I did not lose any muscle weight when comparing numbers from my previous year’s physical.
My husband David also sees Dr. Riesett. We find he is a caring, active listener. He is also extremely knowledgeable on a wide variety of our health concerns. We both find the extensive testing at our annuals quite informative. Cool the Dr. R gives plenty of time to fully explain the results.
I worked at both Hopkins and U of Maryland Dept of Medicine and Epi for over a decade. I find Dr. R much more skilled than any doc I’ve worked with ( or personally seen as a patient.).
Hence? The dude rocks.
PS The entire office staff is friendly, most competent, patient, and caring. What a great team! Highly recommend this MDVIP practice!
